Addressing to the members of the Committee for European Integration about the report that the EU Office has drafted on Kosovo for this year, the head of this office and the special representative of the European Union, Natalya Apostolova said that 2016 marks a new era in the relations between the EU and Kosovo.
“2016 has marked a new era with the Stabilization and Association Agreement.”
“2016 has been a new era in terms of the Stabilization and Association Agreement. We’re expecting from you to implement the SAA”, Apostolova said.
SAA entered in force on 1 April, while the Parliamentary Committee for Stabilization and Association between the EU and Kosovo has held two meetings so far.
Apostolova said that the European Union will continue to help the development of Kosovo in all domains through structural funds.
She expressed her concern about corruption, a phenomenon that damages economic development and the European perspective of the country.
“The report drafted by our office in Pristina points out that corruption is a concern in Kosovo. In this aspect, it is necessary to have a bigger political will to fight it”, Apostolova said. /balkaneu.com/
