A commemorating plaque was uncovered today in Kosovo in honor of the missing persons. The plaque which has been put at “Mother Theresa” square has been uncovered on World Day of Missing Persons.
Given that there are still 1727 missing people from the last war in Kosovo, authorities have sought the assistance of the international community to shed light upon their fate.
“This date must serve us not only to commemorate the missing persons, but also to commit as a society for humanity not to experience such things any more, things which aim to use violence on unprotected people”, said speaker of parliament, Jakup Krasniqi. He added that Kosovo’s society has the obligation to think and assist the families of the missing persons.
Meanwhile, deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Edita Tahiri, who has led the negotiating team in the technical talks, said that the issue of the missing persons has often been discussed with Belgrade. /ibna/
