Professional soldiers of FYR Macedonia seem that they will try their luck with the Bulgarian army.
Embassy of Bulgaria in Skopje has confirmed that it has received a request to schedule a meeting with professional soldiers who have left the Army of FYROM, who require to be granted Bulgarian citizenship and to be accepted in the Bulgarian Army.
The meeting will take place once a part of the Bulgarian diplomats return to Skopje after the summer holidays.
Macedonian officers say that they have been forced to make this demand as a result of the negligence shown by FYROM and the economic crisis.
The coordinator of unemployed soldiers, Ilija Todev says that a large part of soldiers are determined to serve in the Bulgarian Army, mainly for existentialist reasons.
According to him, none of the institutions of the country has made any efforts to resolve their problem so far.
Over 4 thousand professional officers in FYROM have left the army of the country, as the official deadline for their service is 38 years. /ibna/
