FYROM loses out on two million euros from EU IPA Funds

Government in FYROM has lost on two million euros from the European Union IPA Funds, which were destined for the funding of local government projects.

This money should have been used for projects in the communes of Kavadar, Gostivar and Dibra.

But, Brussels has cancelled these funds for exceeding evaluation deadlines. Media in Skopje have reported that this is another blow for authorities in FYROM, as the country doesn’t seem to be returning to political normality and create a government.

This is not the first time that the European Commission cancels funds for FYROM. Last year, the EC cut around 30 million euros worth of funds allocated for the country. Brussels said that the reason for this was the lack of the government to implement reforms and the bad management of IPA funds. /balkaneu.com/
