Srgjan Kerim, FYROM’s candidate for UN Secretary General, called today on an agreement to be reached on the issue of refugees. According to him, this agreement, must be reached between the countries which are affected by the wave of refugees.
“As former head of the UN Parliamentary Assembly and former foreign minister of Macedonia, the country whose economy and social structure have been hit by the current crisis, I am concerned about the fact that not a lot of joint solidarity was shown. I know that we can do more when we are together”, Kerim said.
According to him, world leaders must have a different approach in relation to the refugees crisis, having as priority the protection of the life of people who are in danger. “The human life must be a priority during the management of the refugee crisis. The inhumane behavior toward refugees and asylum seekers is unacceptable from a moral aspect”, Kerim said. /balkaneu.com/
