Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj has met today with the high representative of the EU for Foreign Policy, Federica Mogherini, with which he has signed an agreement for Kosovo’s access in EU programs.
The agreement that was signed today for Kosovo’s access in European programs is the second contractual agreement following the agreement of Stabilization and Association between Kosovo and the EU.
The head of Kosovo’s diplomacy said that this agreement is an important step, as Kosovo will have access in concrete programs and projects, where the private sector, public sector, civil society, academic institutions and citizens of Kosovo can apply.
“This agreement is an important step because it enables the private and public sector, civil society, academic institutions and citizens of Kosovo to compete for funds and projects in the framework of these programs”, Hoxhaj said.
Kosovo has constantly expressed its interest to participate in these programs and in 2009, for the first time, the European Commission recommended the possibility of a Framework Agreement with Kosovo. /balkaneu.com/
