Kosovo’s Telecom has made on Thursday the first telephone call with the new country code +383, considering it as the first step toward the implementation of the agreement for telecommunication reached in the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
The managing director of Kosovo Telecom, Agron Mustafa said that the implementation of the agreement on the country code identifies Kosovo internationally.
“We all know that we use three country codes. With the implementation of the new code, we will get rid of the other codes. Until the end of the year, the +381 will no longer exist for Kosovo”, Mustafa said.
Government of Kosovo’s officials said that after more than 5 years of talks, Kosovo finally has its country code, based on the Brussels’ agreement on telecommunication.
EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn has welcomed the application of the new country code and said that this was a result of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. /balkaneu.com/
