A few hours before leaving office, President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga calls on the local government to offer the favorable conditions for companies to do business in Kosovo.

Jahjaga said that the communes and municipalities of Kosovo must do more than offer adequate services that help the activity of businesses.

In the conference dubbed “Local Economic Development”, which also saw the participation of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, ministers of the governing cabinet and head of city halls and communes, Mrs. Jahjaga stopped to talk about economic issues.

“Economy may be considered as competitive when towns and cities enjoy good standards. Economic development only achievable through a good policy making and communes need to offer more support for our businesses”, Jahjaga said.

Meanwhile, PM Mustafa said that the government has a plan for sustainable economic development and the creation of jobs. He said that some problems have been solved in the cities and villages of the country, by “attacking” the outgoing president:

“Seen from communes or businesses, Kosovo seems a little different than what is declared. We have achieved economic development, employment, competition, but the public opinion is busy with political causes which do not help development. Urgent problems have been solved in communes. Businesses are in favor of the tax policies undertaken by the government”, Mustafa said. /ibna/
