Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa was received today in an official meeting in Berlin by the German chancellor, Angela Merkel.
In a joint news conference after the meeting, Merkel said that Kosovo must continue the talks for the normalization of relations with Serbia and approve the creation of the Special Tribunal.
Merkel said that Pristina and Belgrade must make compromises in order to move forward in the path of European integration.
“Of course, we’re very interested on having a fair agreement and this is valid for both sides. Compromises must be made by both sides and not just by Kosovo. I encourage both sides, because if they move forward in the talks, they will also move forward in their European path. This applies to both Serbia and Kosovo”, Merkel declared.
Meanwhile, Kosovo’s PM, Isa Mustafa said that this meeting discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, situation in Kosovo and the relations with the EU.
“We discussed important issues that concern Kosovo and EU, development issues, European integration and the fight against crime and corruption, as one of the criteria that we must deliver for the liberalization of the visa regime”, he said.
Merkel reiterated Berlin’s stance that there is no chance that Kosovo citizens are granted asylum in Germany. /ibna/
