Kosovo’s Finance minister, Avdullah Hoti said in a press conference that the new bill on salaries will not affect people employed in the civil sector.

“I would like to assure everyone that there will be no pay cuts. The new bill only aims at harmonizing salaries for officials who do the same job”, he said.

According to Hoti, this bill is important for the reform in the Public Administration.

Hoti said that this bill will regulate salaries for different categories such as police, education, FSK and other institutions.

This year, parliament of Kosovo is expected to ratify a new bill for salaries upon the request of the International Monetary Fund, which has suggested that no increases above 4% should be made to salaries in the public sector.

The spokesman of the government of Kosovo, Faton Avdullahu says that the bill in question will be approved this year. /balkaneu.com/
