President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), Michel Platini, spoke commendably on the best football selection of Bosnia and Herzegovina and emphasized that Bosnians “make football progress in all segments”.
The famous football player also referred to the spirited performances of Bosnian representation lately: “Results of Bosnian representation inspire the whole Europe and the world lately. BH representation is the first in the group with a great chance of going to the World Cup in Brazil”, Platini said adding that “BH has great players who can do it, but they still have not finished the job”.
He also commented on the possibility of organizing regional football league in the former Yugoslavia and the Western Balkans. He said that UEFA is not against such competition if there are conditions for that on the level of the national football federations and states, but he expressed the opinion that it will not be so soon.
Moreover, Platini said he will not attend the second qualification match between Serbia and Croatia for the World Cup in Brazil which will be played at the Marakana stadium in Belgrade on 6 September, because he did not attend the first match played in Zagreb on 22 March. “I want to stay neutral, sometimes I have to be a politician”, he said.
Platini confirmed his arrival in Bosnia on September 2nd, where the training centre for Football Association of BH will be opened.
