Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa demanded today a solution to problems relating to power supply for businesses.

He made this request in a meeting with the head of the Kosovo Power Corporation, George Karagutoff.

During this meeting, PM Mustafa expressed the real concerns that exist and the difficulties that businesses face in relation to power supply, mainly new installments by businesses and power supply fees.

Mustafa also conveyed the concerns expressed by businesses in relation to the charging system in the country, where businesses pay different charges for the same amount of electricity consumed.

The representatives of the power corporation said that some of the previous complaints made by businesses have been addressed and that it’s up to the regulatory body to address issues such as charges, etc.

The frequent power cuts have started to cause problems for production businesses in Kosovo. Business representatives have told IBNA that the frequent seriously damage their activity.

International reports on the power supply system in Kosovo also point out that “a great obstacle in the growth and economic development in Kosovo relates to the inadequate supply with electricity”.

Without new energy capacities, such as the “New Kosovo” power plant and alternative power, Kosovo will not be able to address the problem with power supply. /ibna/
