Pristina, August 30, 2013

Officials from the President of Kosovo office have reiterated the fact that the Central Election Commission is responsible for the ballot papers.

“It’s the power of the CEC to determine the shape and design of the ballot papers”, said the spokesman of the President of Kosovo, Arber Vllahiu.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci said during the government meeting that “the ballot papers will not be applauded by the majority, but what’s important is that they comply with the law”.

According to the government and president’s office, CEC is an independent institution and they do not want to intervene in its work.

The lifting of the logos from the ballot papers has also been discussed during the talks between Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels, where Dacic had demanded for them to be lifted due to the holding of neutral elections for the Serbs of Kosovo. /ibna/
