“Treasury” is the latest case launched by the Special Prosecution. This case relates to financial crime and the evidence is based on the wiretapping affair.
Special Prosecutor, Fatime Fetai said that there are three suspects from the Secret Services and one from the Ministry of Interior, who have held senior positions in 2010.
In 2010, senior officials of the Ministry of Interior have been supplied with a surveillance device, but this device was secured privately from Great Britain, through “Finzi DOOEL” company based in Skopje.
Around 1 million euros have been embezzled during the delivery of this device, while hundreds of thousands euros have been embezzled through the agreements for the maintenance of these equipment.
The Special Prosecution said that these senior officials must be held accountable for this embezzlement of funds, as the money for the purchase of equipment has been paid illegally by the Ministry of Interior.
Prosecutor Fetai said that the names of the people involved will not be made public due to the investigation.
Meanwhile, the owner of “Finzi DOOEL”, Kosta Krpac was found dead several months ago in mysterious circumstances at his home in Skopje, but authorities declared it a suicide. The Special Prosecution has warned that it will fully investigate this case. /balkaneu.com/
