Prominent names of Albanian art and music, among the most renowned in the world, will unite at the start of next month in Vatican in a concert to pay tribute to the world famous humanitarian of Albanian origin, Gonxhe Bojaxhi, known as Mother Teresa.
“Anthem for Mother Teresa” concert will be held in the Vatican. Albanian renowned artists such as sopranos Inva Mula, Ermonela Jaho, Saimir Pirgu, Shkelzen Doli, renowned singers such as Rita Ora and names such as Rame Lahaj and Gezim Mushketa, will offer musical performances in this concert.
Renowned names belonging to sport, such as the captain of the Albanian football national team, Lorik Cana, will honor the figure of the Albanian humanitarian. Cana will recite the poem of Mother Teresa called “I want to go back to Albania”.
Present in this ceremony will also be the judo fighter from Kosovo, Majlinda Kelmendi, who snatched a golden medal for Kosovo in the Olympic games which just ended in Rio de Janeiro.
For this concert are working the Eparchy of Kosovo and the National Philharmonic and Opera in Pristina. Producer from Pristina, Diana Toska, says that the participation of these artists in the concert attributed to Mother Teresa will honor not only the work of Mother Teresa, but also the entire Albanian nation.
The concert comes in the framework of activities in the sanctification of Mother Teresa. She was announced a saint through a decree issued by Pope Francis and on 4 September 2016, the official ceremony of sanctification in the Saint Peter’s basilica will take place. This will be the main event of the Jubilee Year of Mercy in the Vatican.
The 4th of September will be marked in the Apostolic Calendar as the Day of the Albanian Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta. /balkaneu.com/
