Serb films in cinemas and concerts with Serb singers in the bars of Pristina will be shown during an entire month as part of the project “Belgrade Month in Pristina”.
Artists from the Serb capital have arrived to Pristina in an effort “to break the cultural ice”, as a result of the aggravated relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
Organizers of this project say that they are expecting such festival to be welcomed in Kosovo.
“This festival is part of the project ‘Serbia and Kosovo, Breaking the Cultural Ice’, a project which is being implemented by the Helsinki Human Rights Committee with its seat in Belgrade”, said Birol Urcan from the Pristina based Liberal Democratic Center organization.
Meanwhile, the representative of the Helsinki Committee, Jelena Dlomic, said that the idea of this organization is to create a network of young people, academic groups and civil society from Belgrade and Pristina.
She said that the project is a continuation of the festival held in Belgrade, where artists from Kosovo participated.
The organizers are expecting this festival to be held annually, while saying that they have also informed the police of Kosovo in order to offer the necessary security for the guests from Serbia. /ibna/
