Today, government of Serbia has held an extraordinary meeting and the only point of the agenda was yesterday’s release from prison of the former PM of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj.
In a press conference, Serb minister of Justice, Nela Kuburovic and the head of the Office for Kosovo in the Serb Government, Marko Djuric, said that they will apply measures of reciprocity toward France and EU member countries if the request for extradition is rejected.
“We’re hoping for French judicial authorities to act in a professional manner”, said Kuburovic.
Meanwhile, Djuric said that Serbia will not stop in its efforts to prosecute people who are wanted for war crimes, regardless of their ethnicity.
Serb prosecution for serious crimes claims that Ramush Haradinaj has committed war crimes in Kosovo in the period 1998-1999, although Haradinaj was acquitted of these charges from the Tribunal of Hague. /balkaneu.com/
