Reduction in foreign arrivals reaches 28%
The tourism of Turkey is showing signs of collapse, in April the fall reached 28% of foreign tourist arrivals compared to the same month of 2015. This is the largest drop in tourism since 1999!
This large drop in the arrival of foreign tourists can attributed to the endless terrorist attacks in the country, as well as to the fighting that continues in the southeastern part of Turkey, and the tension in the Russian-Turkish relations.
According to official figures from the Turkish ministry of Tourism, in the first quarter of 2016 the drop in arrivals of foreign tourist reached 16.55.
The largest drop in arrivals is recorded among Russian tourists with 79.28%.
