Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the Syrian crisis and the Cyprus issue with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, according to a Kremlin announcement.
“A range of international issues were discussed, including the situation in Syria and the Cyprus settlement”, said the Kremlin.
Alexis Tsipras extended his condolences to the Russian president on the murder of Russian ambassador Andrey Karlov in Ankara and the airplane tragedy in the Black Sea, according to the Kremlin announcement.
Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades is due to visit Athens on Friday to discuss developments with the Greek Prime Minister. The meeting will take place in the presence of foreign ministers Nikos Kotzias and Ioannis Kasoulides.
According to IBNA information the two sides will discuss new information, after the long meeting held in Brussels on December 14 and will conclude with a common negotiating tactic.
