Turnover Volume and Value Indexes increase in October

Both the Turnover Volume Index and the Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade, with the exception of motor vehicles, increased last October compared to the same month in 2015, the Statistical Service announced on Tuesday.

On the basis of provisional estimates, the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade for October 2016 increased by 5.2% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and reached 94.9 units.

For the period January-October 2016, the index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 4.2% compared to the same period of 2015.

The Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade for October 2016 increased by 3% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and reached 93,8 units, on the basis of provisional estimates.

For the period January-October 2016 the index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 2.2% compared to the same period of 2015./IBNA
