At the end of her term in office, the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga was received on Wednesday at the White House by the US vice President, Joe Biden.
In this meeting, the senior US official and president Jahjaga agreed on the urgent need that all political parties in Kosovo should be involved in a peaceful dialogue and work in parliament to move forward with the reforms.
Vice President Biden stressed the strong support of the United States for the talks with Serbia and encouraged the government of Kosovo in its efforts to move forward with the process of normalization.
Vice President Biden thanked President Jahjaga for her engagement in the fight against violent extremism and her leadership in strengthening democracy in Kosovo, while underlining the constant commitment of the United States for a sovereign, multi-ethnic and democratic Kosovo integrated in the international community.
President Jahjaga, who ends her term in office at the start of next month, thanked vice President Biden for his personal support for Kosovo and said that she is proud that during her term in office, she has contributed to strengthen partnership between Kosovo and the United States of America. /ibna/
